The best sign of a great Caribbean resort is that it not only keeps things fresh with innovative ideas and creative additions, but it also keeps people talking about. For example, I can hardly finish one sentence about the latest luxurious and amazing offerings at Apes Hill Barbados before it’s time to talk about the newest addition. And, believe me, people are going to be talking about this a lot.
Already the ideal setting for almost any type of vacation, Apes Hill Barbados just became even more desirable to small groups with the addition of the hilltop villas. While there’s no wrong choice when it comes to “where to stay” within this resort community, these new villas will presumably soar to the top of everyone’s wish list when they become available in May, simply based on the first look alone.

But your vacation luxury isn’t a superficial choice, and fortunately there’s nothing even remotely superficial about this new living experience. Some places aim to simply make things look nice, and these villas are going to make every resort throughout the Caribbean look bland in comparison. That’s especially the case when it comes to the eco-forward significance of this effort, as the cool Barbadian breeze is the only AC you’ll need, while solar panels do all the work in heating your private pool (and that’s barely scratching the surface of the sustainability here).

Each villa is a four-bedroom home away from home, and while they’re as modern as it gets in terms of aesthetics, décor, and luxury, they still manage to use the Caribbean Sea as a stunning natural backdrop and thus create that classic Barbados experience that keeps people coming back to this under-the-radar island year after year. As for the rooms, there are two master suites and two double bedrooms, so you can realistically fit your two favorite foursomes under one roof for one of the best tropical golf excursions you can imagine – not to mention some much-needed wellness options.

And while this isn’t a destination that’s always about golf, it’s impossible to look at the surrounding settings of these villas and think about anything but our favorite game. For starters, they overlook the Little Apes short course and the 19th hole, so even when guests are enjoying a meal and cocktails in the massive open living space that opens out to the deck or relaxing in their private pool after a round or two on the 18-hole course, they’ll likely still be thinking about getting back out there ASAP.
Topping it all off is a list of special perks that make these villas the epitome of the “resort within a resort” luxury concept. Adding to this setting’s immense focus on wellness, the outdoors activities go well beyond the course with the offerings at the racket center (pickleball, anyone?), while the best way to see this island’s beauty is on one of the guided hiking tours. When it’s time to finally take a seat and enjoy the views, that can best be done at the Noisy Cricket clubhouse bar and restaurant and the 20th Hole.
All the while, the rest of the guests will be demanding to know when they can get into their own villas.
