St. Barth has many of the trappings of a luxury destination: Upscale properties, designer boutiques lining the streets of Gustavia, fancy French restaurants, and a glittering harbor filled with some of the most baller vessels in the world. What it doesn’t have to lure in vacationers is a golf course. But that’s about to change — sort of.
Hotel Manapany, a 43-room, 5-star boutique resort on the swanky island of St. Barth, is partnering with a resort on a neighboring island to give guests the opportunity to hit the links with a 2-for-1 island experience. Starting next season, Hotel Manapany will offer a package that lets guests split their time between St. Barth and the Aurora Anguilla Resort and Golf Club, where golfers can enjoy the resort’s two courses — the only on the island.
This extravagant experience begins with a stay at Aurora Anguilla before a flight transfer to St. Barth, which is a special moment in itself (and included in the deal), for the rest of the stay at Manapany. Among the bells and whistles are breakfast, a $100 food and beverage voucher, upgrades (when available), late checkout, and VIP amenities, while guests at Aurora will also enjoy free golf club rentals with paid tee time, a round on the Avalon Links Short Course, and the bonus choice of golf or a spa treatment (all two per bedroom).
The 18-hole design at The Greg Norman Golf Course Design International Course, honored in 2023 as the #2 Best Caribbean Course in a USA Today reader’s poll, is 7,165 yards long, with a par 72,75.6 course rating and 134 slope rating from the back tees.
The course boasts panoramic views of St. Martin and the Caribbean Sea from the tee box of the 384-yard starting hole and a 16,000-sq-ft green running along Rendezvous Beach and the Anguilla Channel on holes 2 and 10. It also has one of the most challenging finishes in the Caribbean, with a demanding tee shot over a salt pond followed by a 40-foot ascent up a narrow green with three large bunkers.

In addition to the 18-hole course, guests can also partake in Avalon Links, a 9-hole walking course; tee times for both courses start at 7:00 a.m. daily. Rental equipment includes TaylorMade Stealth lines of woods and irons and TaylorMade TP putters available for right- and left-handed men and women, and TaylorMade soft response golf balls.
There are several ways to travel between St. Barth and Anguilla, including a 45-minute ferry operated by Voyager, a 10-minute ride via West Indies Helicopters, and a 15-minute flight via St. Barth Commuter.
While at the Hotel Manapany, guests can luxuriate in all that this eco resort has to offer. Accommodations come in several categories, tucked into the cliffside or set directly on the beach, all come with views of the ocean or lush tropical foliage. The Ocean Junior Suite, for example, has enviable views of the azure sea, modern design elements with nautical touches, a king-size bed, spacious bathroom, living area, and private balcony.
A larger pool adjacent to the restaurant is designed for families, while a smaller, more tranquil one for adults only is located on the deck of the spa. The hotel’s private beach on the Anse des Cayes is rocky yet swimmable, with loungers dotting the sand. At the all-day restaurant serving French-Caribbean fusion (with a killer French wine list), guests can snag a table overlooking the water or one with their toes in the sand, or sip a cocktail from the bar, which shakes up tropical tipples and classic cocktails.
