Rise and Shine at Hyatt Regency Lost Pines Resort and Spa

It seems like only yesterday we were watching from the edges of our seats as Akshay Bhatia held off Denny McCarthy in a fun playoff to win the 2024 Valero Texas Open. Except it was two months ago and the main reason some of us haven’t stopped thinking about it is because Texas is simply a red-hot destination for golfers right now. Between the PGA’s new digs and the 800 or so courses to choose from, the hardest part isn’t choosing Texas for a summer or fall golf trip — at least not as much as picking the right resort.

Although, if your goal is to be surrounded by immense natural beauty and spoiled by a bevy of incredible experiences from trap shooting and archery to fishing and horseback riding, there might not be a better choice than Hyatt Regency Lost Pines Resort and Spa. Set on 405 acres near beautiful hill country and next to the Lower Colorado River, this property is a destination unto itself thanks to knockout amenities and a phenomenal culinary program.

But golfers from all over the country should want to get Lost here, because it is also home to the recently redesigned Lost Pines Golf Club — formerly known as Wolfdancer — which is widely considered to be among the Lone Star State’s best. If the views of the landscape are enough to keep guests poolside for hours at a time, then they’ll love the way architect Arthur Hills carved the 7,200-yard course into the “rolling prairies, wooded ridgelines, and groves of native pecan trees.”

The cherry on top is Hyatt Regency Lost Pines’ “Stay and Play” offer, which includes one round of golf for each night of the stay, in addition to daily breakfast at Heartwood House. This is certainly the type of course that can entertain and delightfully baffle players of all skill levels for multiple days, but anyone who desires more and wants to make a bigger trip of it, Austin boasts several celebrated courses that won’t take much time to find.

Although, few of them are located right next to a massive pool with a lazy river, so it’s really all about convenience.
